Choosing The Frugal Path

Two roads diverged in a wood, and I-- I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference

Taking the road less traveled financially is often a scary thing to do. Our family has recently made the decision to scale back dramatically on our purchases and live within our means. Our goal is to reduce the amount of money we spend by making smarter purchasing decisions on everything from groceries to our monthly living expenses. Gone are the credit cards, the impulse buys, and the wasteful consumption our family previously participated in. We realize, as a one income family, that in order to meet our monthly expenses and be able to help others we must employ a smarter way of handling our finances.

Meal planning, energy conservation in the home, couponing, and finding bargains on clothing, entertainment and household items will be our main focus. We'd also like to be able to start a small savings fund to offset any emergency expenses. And last, but certainly not least, being in a position to help others with our time, talents, and money is also a very rewarding thing and we will strive to take the time to see any needs around us, address them, and help in the ways we can.

I think more and more people are scaling back and trying to live modestly in order to have a more secure future. Our house included is living the frugal path.

I've visited www.tipnut.com alot for tips on everything and so I thought I'd share that with you. I can't wait to see what you might post as well.

Good luck with your blog.
